Matt Boyas is a data scientist who specializes in collaborating with country teams to develop sustainable software and analytics solutions. With seven years of experience in global health and more than 10 years in the public interest, Matt has expertise across the full data analytics and machine learning lifecycle. At Linksbridge, Matt works on projects focused on community data collection, surveillance, strategic framework design, and country-focused data analytics, modeling, and technical assistance.

Earlier in his career, Matt led a multilateral effort to develop the strategic software roadmap for verbal autopsy, supported the Zambia National Public Health Institute in implementing mortality surveillance, and developed a remote sensing model for detecting onchocerciasis vector habitat. His work has been published in Health Affairs Scholar, and he has presented at the annual meetings of the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, the American Meteorological Society, and SPIE: Defense + Commercial Sensing. He has also contributed to code repositories for managing verbal autopsies and identifying biologically implausible height and weight measurements.

Matt holds a master’s in statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor’s in mathematics and social science from Dartmouth College. He serves on the board of Future Problem Solving and plays clarinet in the Union College Philharmonic.
